Discover Dogs Earls Court 2011

Discover Dogs Earls Court 12th and 13th November. Thank-you to all those that helped on the stand for the 2 days. Our new look stand was better than ever and received so many positive comments.  Great fun was had by all. The day was very busy and we had a lot of interest in our breed. Many were interested in puppies and will no doubt be in contact with Adele our secretary.

DISCOVER DOGS – EARLS COURT LONDON – NOVEMBER 2011

My name is Santino and my mummy and daddy Lorna and Andrew are allowing me to paw type my own article about the Saturday we did Discover Dogs.

You humans really do not know how clever we dogs really are!!  When you are not looking, we get up to all sorts of things paw typing is one of my new skills!! Woof woof.

It was decided that myself, Alberto and my mum Gaia would show ourselves off on the stand. Our humans, my mummy and daddy and my nanny Rita would be coming along too for a day out.  We were  also to be joined  by our other doggy friends, Morse, Bella and Abbi.  There mum and dad Brian and Chris would be there as well.

On the Friday my dad got us all prepared and I know Chris was busy doing the same with Morse, Bella and Abbi.  How smart and pretty we all looked.  I thought we represented the breed to a very high standard, if I say so myself.

We set off very early on the Saturday.  It was woof, just after 5am!  This is nothing unusual for us, because those of you who know my mummy, know she likes to be everywhere far too early!!

Alberto, Gaia and I took the opportunity to sleep and relax with my daddy.  My mummy drove us there with the help of someone called ‘Tom Tom’!  My nanny pretended to be the other navigator.  All went well, until we got into London.  Mummy woke us all up because Tom Tom had sent her the wrong way and she was lost.  It was all to do with too many lanes and not knowing what one to take.  Seemed easy to me but ha ho you humans!!

Daddy stayed calm and helped everyone navigate to where we needed to go and we ended up at a huge car park with lots of other dogs, looking all very smart and very happy.  Gosh we were excited and keen to get going but daddy had to get everything unloaded out of the car.  So much stuff, really he only needed us because we were the most important after all and everyone was coming to see us at the end of the day.

There is a problem with being a white dog though, we are known for getting dirty quickly if we are not careful.   Gaia rode in the chariot and Alberto and I rode on top for all to see.  We had a good look round, what a noisy place London was.

Once inside the place called Earls Court, we were all allowed to walk on a lovely green carpet.  Alberto was naught and went for a poo.  When you need to go, well what can I say!  Poor mummy she was a little embarrassed.  Mummy did a good job of clearing up, she is so responsible and everything was as good as new!!

Then we had to find where we would be for the day.  Daddy took over the role of navigator and we found where we would be without any problems.

Now we have to say a huge woof woof, hugs and kisses to Christine Rushbrook and her daughter Fay, who worked so hard getting the stand ready for our arrival.  Christine and her friend were so good, they came on the Friday to set the stand-up ready for us all.  Christine had been busy with a needle and had made cushions, covers and drapes in the colours of our Italian flag.   The stand really did stand out.  You certainly knew we were Italian dogs.  There were also some very special posters that had been done of my Bolognese friends.  A very colourful and happy looking stand.  We were very proud to be staying in extremely posh surrounding for the day.

Stickers and leaflets had been prepared to give out to people; all the humans had certainly been very busy and had worked hard.

We all managed to have a good look around before lots of people arrived.  So much to see – there were lots of things to buy and mummy of course got just a few bits and pieces!!

Alberto, Gaia and I got ourselves comfortable on top of our trolley.  Gaia as she is the lady had the comfortable cushion, Alberto and I were happy to rough it!

Morse, Bella and Abbi  were ground level, so we could attack people with love and affection from all sides!!   Lots of people had cuddles from us all.  We all had our pictures taken and everyone wanted to take us home.  The humans answered lots of questions, some strange, others sensible and interesting.  It was a busy day.  We all managed to stretch our legs throughout the day.  Gaia was even taken to a church yard so that she could go to the toilet on grass!  What a princess!!

Hopefully we persuaded people to consider having a Bolognese as a pet because as you all know we are our loving dogs, who just love cuddles and attention.

We went home totally exhausted.  Daddy drove us home so that mummy could relax on the way home.

Christine, Fay and all their dogs did the stand on the Sunday and I hear from my doggy pals they had a very busy day too.

Sunday we just collapsed, it so exhausting being a dog and we did our favourite thing of sleeping most of the day.

I heard mummy say they use to hold Crufts at Earls Court, gosh that must have been a nightmare for everyone.

Hope you joined hearing about our adventure and woof woof to you all.

Love hugs and kisses from Santino xx
